About Marc
Master goldsmith Marc Howard brings over four decades of experience to his work, handcrafting one-of-a-kind and custom designed fine jewelry in high-karat golds and platinum, expertly set with fine diamonds and fanciful colored gemstones.
Marc’s profound reverence for – and affectionate familiarity with – the raw materials with which he works often are revealed in settings that are variations of historical designs. Byzantine and Egyptian, Roman and Celtic, as well as Deco, Nouveau, and Modern motifs have all appeared in Marc’s celebrated designs.
His bench alone, with its myriad collection of tools both new and very old, is testament to his intimate involvement with the alchemical process of turning raw metal and stones into beautiful objects of adornment.
Beginning his career in Ohio, Marc launched his independence as a master goldsmith when the Cleveland Museum of Art featured his work in 1986. In 1988 he moved to Santa Fe and has since become known as “the jeweler’s jeweler” for his technical expertise and singular design sensibility.
